Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
RationPoint uses necessary cookies to operate the webshop. We use optional analytics, marketing and external-media technologies only after the consent required by law. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from shopping.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files placed on, or read from, your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and scripts. They can remember your basket and preferences, secure checkout, measure website use or allow third-party content to work.
2. Our cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
| Necessary | Security, session management, load balancing, cookie choices, shopping basket, checkout, account login and core webshop functions. | Always active because the service cannot work properly without them. |
| Preferences | Remember optional display, language or personalisation choices. | Used with consent where they are not strictly necessary. |
| Analytics | Understand visits, navigation, errors and performance so we can improve the webshop. | Used only with consent unless configured as limited, privacy-friendly measurement for which consent is not legally required. |
| Marketing and reviews | Measure campaigns, personalise advertising or support third-party review services. | Used only after consent where required. |
| External media | Load third-party content such as maps, review widgets or anti-abuse services that may receive device and network data. | Loaded only after consent where required. A service that is strictly necessary for security may be used under the applicable legal exception. |
3. Technologies used by this webshop
The exact cookie names can vary with configuration and software updates. The following cookie families may be used for core RationPoint functions:
| Cookie or storage item | Purpose | Typical duration |
PHPSESSID, session identifiers | Maintain a secure browsing and checkout session. | Session or configured session lifetime |
form_key | Help protect forms against unauthorised cross-site requests. | Session |
mage-cache-sessid, mage-cache-storage, private_content_version, section_data_ids | Keep page content, basket and customer sections current. | Session up to approximately one year, depending on the item and configuration |
mage-messages | Display service and transaction messages. | Until the message is displayed or the session ends |
| Recently viewed, compared or product-storage items | Support product navigation and optional shopping features. | Session up to the configured storage period |
| Cookie-consent preference | Remember the categories you accepted or rejected. | Configured consent lifetime |
4. Third-party services
| Provider/service | Why it may be used | Data that may be received |
| Trustpilot | Display reviews and, where enabled, support review invitations. | IP address, browser/device data and widget interaction; order/contact data only where a review-invitation service is lawfully configured. |
| Google Maps | Display an interactive map on a contact or location page. | IP address, browser/device data and map interaction. |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Protect forms and the webshop against automated abuse. | IP address, browser/device and interaction signals used for abuse detection. |
| Analytics or advertising provider shown in the consent centre | Measure website use or campaigns and, where separately accepted, support advertising. | Cookie identifiers, approximate location, device/browser details, referring page and website activity. |
Third parties may act as independent controllers for their own purposes. Their privacy notices apply to those activities. Optional third-party scripts must remain blocked until the relevant consent has been given.
5. Choosing and withdrawing consent
On your first visit, the cookie banner must offer equally accessible choices to accept all optional categories, reject all optional categories or configure them individually. Optional choices must not be preselected.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the permanent Cookie settings link in the website footer. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal. Necessary cookies cannot be disabled through our preference centre, but you can remove them using your browser; doing so may prevent the webshop from working.
6. Updates and contact
We update this policy when cookie names, providers, purposes or retention periods materially change. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
